Mango Packhouse Cooling in Durban

Hot water treatment integration, controlled pre-cool with tight low-limit setpoints, and ripening rooms with even air distribution. Purpose-built for mango producers around Durban.

The problem

Why mango is demanding

Mangoes suffer chilling injury below 10 °C but arrive from the field at 35 °C, so pre-cooling must be fast yet strictly floor-limited.

Our approach

How we build for it

Hot water treatment integration, controlled pre-cool with tight low-limit setpoints, and ripening rooms with even air distribution.

Durban port cold chain and container pre-cooling.

What temperature should mango be stored at?

10 °C to 13 °C at 85–90% RH, giving roughly 2–4 weeks. We set and verify these bands during commissioning.

When is the mango season around Durban?

November to March. We plan installations and major maintenance outside that window wherever possible.

Can you expand our existing Durban facility?

Yes — we audit the current envelope and plant capacity first, then add chambers or pre-cooling without redesigning the whole site.
